Futamura, the global leader for sustainable cellulose films, announces the launch of a new product to market, ‘NatureFlex™ 30NVO’, an ovenable grade of its landmark compostable NatureFlex™ films.
Since the launch of renewable and compostable NatureFlex™ films in 2003, Futamura has helped hundreds of leading retailers and ethical brand owners on their sustainable packaging journey. Not only certified for home and industrial composting, NatureFlex™ also offers outstanding technical performance. The transparent, coloured, metallised and matt films, made from responsibly sourced wood pulp, are so versatile they can be used for a variety of product applications; from coffee capsules, twistwrap and tea packaging to cosmetic grade glitter!
UK charity organisation, the British Heart Foundation, has called upon the expertise of packaging converter, Direct Packaging, and compostable film manufacturer, Futamura, to find a solution to a heart-breaking problem.
Millions of discarded, once-loved toys find their way to landfill, but the British Heart Foundation has targeted this wasteful issue whilst raising money for their valuable cause; by grouping the toys in handy-sized packs to be purchased and re-homed.
The materials offer competitive performance, while tackling the negative environmental impact of traditional oil-based, non-recyclable multilayer packaging.
Sustainable alternatives to challenging packaging formats such as multilayer pouches will be key to meeting the UK Plastics Pact target that 70 per cent of plastic packaging is effectively recycled or composted by 2025. Read more
