Seit 2019 hat Futamura eine kumulative CO\u2082-Einsparung erreicht, die dem Entfernen von ~70.000 Fahrzeugen von den Stra\u00dfen des Vereinigten K\u00f6nigreichs f\u00fcr ein ganzes Jahr entspricht. Diese Zahl entspricht den vermiedenen CO\u2082e-Emissionen, die mit der Produktion von lackierten (basierend auf NatureFlexTM NVS) und glatten Folien zwischen 2019 und 2025 in Verbindung stehen, berechnet unter Verwendung der IPCC AR6 GWP100-Werte aus einer unabh\u00e4ngigen externen Lebenszyklusbewertung von ERM*. Dies f\u00fchrte zu einer durchschnittlichen Reduzierung des CO\u2082-Fu\u00dfabdrucks ihrer NatureFlex\u2122-Folien um 24 Prozent.<\/p>


Aufbauend auf diesem Erfolg werden nun weitere umfangreiche Investitionen durchgef\u00fchrt und sollen bis 2027\/28 realisiert werden. Ein Beispiel daf\u00fcr ist das k\u00fcrzlich angek\u00fcndigte, intern bekannte Projekt \u201eWet Sulphuric Acid (WSA)\u201c. Die Anlage wird Abfallgase aus dem Produktionsprozess abf\u00fchren und einen wertvollen Rohstoff durch einen Oxidationsprozess erzeugen. Die als Nebenprodukt der chemischen Reaktion entstehende W\u00e4rme wird dann zur Erzeugung von Dampf verwendet, der Hauptenergieform im Produktionsprozess. Nach Inbetriebnahme wird dieses Anlageobjekt 15 Prozent des gesamten Energiebedarfs des Standorts Futamura decken. Es wird damit erwartet, dass diese Investitionen die CO\u2082-Emissionen des Unternehmens noch weiter reduzieren, was dem \u00c4quivalent entspricht, dass j\u00e4hrlich weitere ~4.000 Autos von den Stra\u00dfen Gro\u00dfbritanniens verschwinden (basierend auf den Produktionsvolumina von 2025). Dies stellt einen weiteren bedeutenden Schritt zur Reduzierung des CO\u2082-Fu\u00dfabdrucks ihrer Produkte dar.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ein wesentlicher Beitrag zur j\u00fcngsten Reduzierung der CO2-Emissionen war die Investition in ein neues, leistungsstarkes Druckluftsystem, um die Energieeffizienz zu verbessern, die CO2-Emissionen zu reduzieren und die Betriebssicherheit zu verbessern. Eine unabh\u00e4ngige Luftmessung best\u00e4tigte, dass dieses neue System die Erwartungen \u00fcbertrifft. Um die Nachhaltigkeit weiter zu verbessern, integrierte Futamura ein W\u00e4rmer\u00fcckgewinnungssystem, das Abw\u00e4rme aus den Kompressoren nutzt, um die Thermotanks vorzuh\u00e4rten. Dadurch wird der Wasserdampf reduziert, der f\u00fcr den Produktionsprozess ben\u00f6tigt wird. Dieses neue System hat sich als \u00e4u\u00dferst zuverl\u00e4ssig erwiesen und bisher keine gr\u00f6\u00dferen Probleme aufgeworfen. Diese beiden Verbesserungen haben zu einer erheblichen Reduzierung der CO2-Emissionen von Futamura gef\u00fchrt.

Neben gro\u00dffl\u00e4chigen Investitionen hat Futamura eine Reihe gezielter Energieeffizienzinitiativen auf seinem gesamten Gel\u00e4nde umgesetzt. Im Jahr 2022 wurden die Klimaanlagen im Verwaltungsgeb\u00e4ude neu programmiert, sodass sie nur dann betrieben werden, wenn dies erforderlich ist und innerhalb der kontrollierten Temperaturgrenzen.
Durch laufende Beleuchtungsmodernisierungen wurden ineffiziente Leuchtstoffsysteme durch moderne LED-Technologie ersetzt. Diese Verbesserungen haben sowohl den Energieverbrauch als auch die Anzahl der ben\u00f6tigten Lampen reduziert, w\u00e4hrend gleichzeitig die Lichtqualit\u00e4t erhalten oder verbessert wurde. Aktuell verf\u00fcgt 80% des Gel\u00e4ndes \u00fcber LED-Beleuchtung.
Die Beleuchtung wurde auf LED-Beleuchtung umgestellt, was zu einer deutlichen Senkung des Energieverbrauchs f\u00fchrte und eine vollst\u00e4ndige Rentabilit\u00e4t innerhalb des ersten Jahres erm\u00f6glichte.<\/p>

Futamura f\u00fchrte in seinen Laboren Energiemonitoring durch, das weitere M\u00f6glichkeiten zur Effizienzsteigerung ergab.
