Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer seeking an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our Cellulose Films manufacturing plant? We’re looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our dynamic team!
As a Mechanical Design and Development Engineer, your primary goal will be to revolutionise our manufacturing plant , driving efficiency and ensuring we meet and exceed our production targets. You’ll play a crucial role in both designing new systems and enhancing existing ones, paving the way for standardised project implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing innovative solutions for capital investment and maintenance of equipment.
- Providing technical support to assist in the diagnosis and rectification of complex production and plant service breakdowns
- Supporting project management to deliver on company objectives from initiation through to commissioning/handover
- Utilising CAD based packages (AutoCAD & Inventor) to produce detailed drawings
- Ensuring technical files are compiled and maintained
- Managing sub-contract specialist design during specific project tasks.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Mechanical Engineering degree – with at least 3 years’ experience.
- Relevant regulatory experience – i.e. COMAH, DSEAR, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH & CDM.
- In-depth knowledge of CAD packages.
- Design of machinery steelwork, sheet metal, access ways, tanks & pipework.
- Selection of pumps, mechanical drives, rollers, valves & filters.
- Producing hand calculations/utilising calculation packages for structures & flows.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work autonomously.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.

Additional Information:
- Occasional out of hours contact to support current projects may be required.
- Willingness to travel (E.g. for supplier visits) may be necessary.
- Speculative applications from recent graduates or for placements during study are also welcomed.
