Pourer Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Engineering team as a Pourer Technician at our Wigton Factory.

Futamura is a major global manufacturer of sustainable, plant-based cellulose films, including the renowned NatureFlex™ compostable films. Futamura processes responsibly sourced wood pulp into sustainable flexible packaging and labelling solutions used by brands worldwide.

What is this role?

The role maintains and services the casting machine pourers to the required standards to meet production quality needs. In addition, the technician undertakes machining duties to precisely fabricate and repair industrial components of the process.

The role requires a high degree of concentration and attention to detail, the ability to work as part of a team as well as strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions with little supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance of the casting pourers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production team members to organise timely maintenance duties.
  • Machine and assemble components of the pourers to technical specifications and engineering drawings to a high level of accuracy and detail.
  • Supervise and train personnel to assist in maintenance duties.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Manage spares and perishables associated with the maintenance of the pourers to ensure limited downtime of assets.
  • Support the wider engineering department with machining duties as required.

Experience and qualifications

  • HNC in associated discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable mechanical engineering and machining experience.
  • FLT training would be an advantage.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to work overtime
  • On call requirement during breakdown situations

Salary: £868 per week (achieved after training / probation period)

Type: Full time, permanent

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday (days: 07.30am to 15.30pm) With a rest day every 4th week
