An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Futamura team as a 2-shift Operator in our Casting team at our Wigton Factory.
Futamura is a major global manufacturer of sustainable, plant-based cellulose films, including the renowned NatureFlex™ compostable films. Futamura processes responsibly sourced wood pulp into sustainable flexible packaging and labelling solutions used by brands worldwide.
What is this role?
The Casting Department is the second stage of our cellulose process. Here, the viscose solution is transformed through a dilute acid bath into cellulose film. This film then passes through several baths where it is washed and conditioned. Depending on the requirements, softeners, additives, or colours may be added to the film. The delicate webs are carefully dried and wound into large reels. As a Shift Operator, you will continually monitor this intricate process to ensure manufacturing consistency and quality.
The role requires a high degree of concentration and attention to detail, the ability to work as part of a team as well as strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions with little supervision.
